DEEP BARRIER is an environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and odourless water-based compound designed to penetrate deep into concrete surfaces. It reacts with free alkalis within the concrete matrix to form a stable gel, effectively preventing the migration of moisture through the slab.
Ideal for use beneath adhesive-fixed floor coverings, DEEP BARRIER acts as a permanent internal moisture barrier without forming a surface membrane – ensuring complete compatibility with adhesives and coatings. The product also assists in curing and densifying concrete during the early stages, improving long-term durability and performance.
DEEP BARRIER is supplied as a milky liquid and is easy to apply using a coarse-bristled broom, knapsack sprayer, pump pack, or airless spray system. It does not alter the appearance of the slab and requires no rinsing or removal.
Tested and compliant with AS 1884:2021, DEEP BARRIER delivers reliable sub-slab moisture control with zero VOC emissions – making it ideal for use in residential, commercial, and environmentally sensitive projects.
DEEP BARRIER shall be a water-based, VOC-free, nano-reactive compound specifically formulated to penetrate concrete substrates and prevent the migration of moisture from within the slab. The compound shall be applied after final finishing and as soon as the surface is sufficiently hardened to allow foot traffic, or as a remedial moisture control treatment prior to the installation of adhesive-fixed floor coverings or coatings.
The product shall be applied using a coarse-bristled broom, pump sprayer, or airless spray system to achieve uniform surface coverage. DEEP BARRIER shall react with free alkalis and moisture in the concrete matrix to form a subsurface gel, thereby reducing porosity and internal capillary movement. It shall not form a membrane and shall leave no residue on the surface, ensuring full compatibility with adhesives and coatings.
The product shall be tested and proven to comply with AS 1884:2021 requirements for moisture barriers under resilient flooring systems. Treated surfaces shall remain breathable while being protected from rising moisture.
